What is a "Friendly Visiting Service (FVS)?"
For elderly people it is often difficult to maintain their social life as it becomes harder to stay mobile and leave the house.
FVS is a visiting service in German language for elderly people who would like to have a volunteer-visitor from time to time and to have a chat in German language. Let it be the latest news or old stories, it is just about chatting in a friendly atmosphere.
FVS is organized and co-ordinated by the Australian German Welfare Society - but it can only work with the help of volunteers. We aim at helping elderly people who feel lonely to maintain social contacts.
